Vein mapping, conducted using doppler ultrasound, is a simple, non-invasive technique undertaken pre-surgery and is increasingly being carried out by theatre staff.
The process identifies the position of the required veins and creates a ‘map’ which can be used to successfully conduct the clinical procedure. It allows a clear indication of vein diameter, size, location and branches whilst highlighting any anomalies.
